If you are looking for comfort, good service, strategic location and a touch of Asian luxury at a very good price then the Moty Hotel Melaka may be the choice for you.

Our Experience at the Moty Hotel Melaka

CHECK-IN

As we arrived at the Moty Hotel Melaka we were warmly greeted by their friendly and efficient staff. The check-in process was relatively quick after which the doorman promptly carried our luggage to the room – a not so common practice in mid-range priced hotels.

ROOM

The classic-style rooms are very comfortable, including a fridge, complimentary water, a kettle and a selection of teas and instant coffee.

The double bed is very large and comfortable and the choice of pillows was very acceptable (we are extremely picky when it comes to pillows!).

For those needing to work, there is also a spacious work desk.

BREAKFAST

Breakfast is abundant with a vast selection of mostly Asian options, but also continental style options.

A chef attends to special orders such as scrambled or fried eggs, or even omelettes.

I was pleasantly surprised that they were willing to attend to my healthy vegan requirements by purchasing, especially for us, rolled oats (not instant) and soya milk (not organic… that would have been asking too much!). They even made a smoothie with fruit and soya milk, which is not part of their regular offer. Truly delightful.

They do their best to make the client happy.

SWIMMING POOL

There is an indoor swimming pool, actually two, one deeper than the other.

Although the size is adequate and the setting is very pleasant, the temperature of the water and the ambient temperature, were too low for our taste. But let’s be honest and fair, we do like warm temperatures and I have a particularly low tolerance for any type of cold.

HYGIENE

The hygiene of the hotel was immaculate in all areas that we used, namely, room, bathroom, breakfast room, reception lounge and swimming pool.

SERVICE

The staff was friendly, attentive, communicative and extremely interested in our health tip!

WiFi

There is WiFi, though mostly very slow in the rooms, with some better access zones around the lobby. Generally, however, in our experience, the connection was not satisfactory. This, in our opinion, is probably the weakest point of the hotel, but then again, this seems to be the norm in most hotels where we stay in Malaysia.

LOCATION

Moty Hotel Melaka is strategically located on the periphery of the city centre, within a 10-minute walk to the famous Jonker Street.

FINAL THOUGHTS

The Moty Hotel Melaka is at the top of our list when it comes to comfort, service and price. So much so that we elected it our hotel in Melaka.

We have stayed there twice and will certainly go back on our next visit to Melaka.
